Materials

The materials we use are either copper, brass, gold or silver.  The silver is traditionally used by most of the Hill tribe cultures.  Gold is also used but more so by the Thai people.

We are within the 'Golden Triangle' Region and the infamous name came about centuries ago when traditionally Gold (and Silver) was used as a currency though usually used as a currency in the Opium trade up until fairly recently.

Hill tribe people and to some extent many Thai's still use Gold as a currency putting money into this valuable source rather than use the traditional method we have adopted using banks.

Thai Gold is a very strong commodity in Thailand and Thai gold is known as one of the purest in the world.  Unlike buying a piece of new Jewelry in Europe and the US much of what you pay the jeweller is for labor.  In Thailand the labor cost is minimal.

Most Thai jewelry is massed produced by a lost wax casting process. In our classes you learn the traditional and contemporary hand made techniques, individually crafted to show your own unique style. We also teach an ancient casting method called 'sand casting'.
